Mischief & Mayhem

An old friend of mine from “back-in-the-day” just released a new album, free to download, but donations always appreciated. I’ve been jamming out to it at work today, and I’m lovin’ it. Glitching, dynamic, aggressive, fun, and just plain dope. If you like IDM, glitch, and experimental music, then this album is for you. If you like good music, then this album is for you. If you like to have FUN, then this album is for you.

IamTrip – As It Was EP

While digging through emails to see what I may have missed, I cam across this one from Filip Forsström, otherwise known as “IamTrip“. His release, As It Was, is a solid emotional piece of work. Delicate melodies, creative percussion edits and a gentle flow throughout all the songs. For anyone into glitch, idm and dubstep, I recommend you give this one a download – you owe it to yourself.
He also sent over a promo vid, which you can see below. The video work was done by http://theworkofcastor.com.
I’m in love with this 4 track release, and I can’t wait to hear more of what this guy produces in the future.
TankMan – Promo Mix | 2011

TankMan once went under the guise of Adroit as a member of UltraBlack, but now he’s back doing his solo thing under a new name, with renewed energy, to push his take on dubstep to the masses. It’s now Thursday, and another day closer to the supposed “Rapture” that takes place on Saturday. What better way to prepare yourself for the inevitable than with a new, free, dubstep mix to rock out to.

Inaudible – Feed Me Your Email EP

Inaudible, one of the many producers on the Muti Music imprint out of San Francisco, comes correct with a free EP for the fans.
In his own words, “In an attempt at satisfying my craving for email addresses I am releasing the “feed me your email” EP feating the following two tracks. Carnival: The sound of Jesus, re-incarnated into a 115bpm tense, glitched out, dubstep format, and Quiet Addict: Tastes like a slow shot of skag in your eyeball. Or a dubstep number featuring an eerie vocal hook over a bubbling 8 bit lead and crackling percussion.”
Carnival also has a video featuring mutations of Mr. Inaudibles face, enjoy!
Kaometry Presents: Water Waves Mix Promo
In the inbox today was a sweet new mix promo Kaometry sent over by Water Waves. Check the details below and grab this free mix!
“I understand that time is running out [...] Time is running out of talks, marches, tunes, chants, and all kinds of prayers” Thus used to sing (scream? rap?) Last Poets back to 1970, but that was another world, another ghetto and primarily another purpose.
Time still runs, music flows, endlessly producing styles as language multiplies through slangs.
“Gone With The Time” is our fresh new release, a mix to introduce Berlin-based Water Waves.
While running from and around time, with beats & lovely cued breaks, dirty dubby steppes from across genres and styles (and years: note that Mr Oizo’s “Flat Beat” in a 16bit-smashed version coming out from your deep rhythmic DNA…) Water Waves develops something more than a beat bouquet for the end of the year (well, also the end of this first decade, that counts…): it is also a castle of melodies, a sonic construction etched in the beats, surrounded by a river of bass and a listening trip both physically and narrative. And we’ll fun fun fun till next.

Woodnote – Söppel EP

Woodnote, a new favorite of mine this year, brings us a new EP for our listening pleasure. You may remember this guy from the recent postings I’ve made (that is if you’ve been paying attention to this space). His new EP is another splendid journey through musical soundscapes, bringing about what I consider, a nice retro vibe mixed with electronic flavors and a dab of hip hop. One of my favorite aspects of the EP is the mix of xylophones, bells, strings, and jazz elements in the productions.
All four tracks retain a solid, familiar flow to them which brings it all around nicely in one consistent, quality EP.
I highly recommend this download to those looking for undiscovered talent and music appreciators worldwide. This one will be in rotation on my CD player for awhile.
